Who are SeamStress Ltd.?
Sally Wilkins and Penny Stragnell founded SeamStress Ltd. in 1994 and have been manufacturing Playchutes ever since. They also provide training in the use of Playchutes and have written articles for a variety of educational journals. In addition, they have published several booklets of Playchute Games.
"Our early use of parachutes convinced us of the need for a far superior product than was available on the market. We felt manufacturers had little concept of what the users required. No allowance was made for the extensive range of user groups, nor for the diverse activities being developed by ourselves and others. We saw a need for choice of colours, size and for far greater strength and durability.
"Appreciating the concept and principles behind parachute play, we thoroughly researched possible designs and materials, applying our own exacting standards, eventually developing a Playchute of the quality we desired for our own use. Prototypes were then tried and tested to rigorous standards by a variety of users, resulting in the Playchute we are now proud to make available to you."
