What can be achieved through parachute play?
In the short term, a parachute provides a means of focusing a large group of people. It has a mystique and a promise of fun. It provides an immediate bond, it gets everyone working together regardless of age or ability, and everyone's contribution is valuable.
In the longer term, it teaches responsibility, turn taking, social awareness, teamwork and co-operation. It also provides a series of activities in which there are lots of winners and no losers.
